Truman Orthodontics Henderson wanted in on the Olympic action. So we did the next sensible thing: we created the Ortho Olympics.
Since only the best clinical assistants and orthodontic professionals make up the TruCrew, we thought it wouldn’t hurt to show off their skills on social media (and get a little friendly competition going in the office). The Ortho Olympics consists of various clinical tasks – all of which our TruCrew members, divided into two teams, went head to head. The rules are simple: the first team to earn three wins takes home the gold (and some serious bragging rights).
But first, let’s get into the details.
The Olympic Games traditionally spotlight the world’s premiere athletes from, among others, the track and field, gymnastics, tennis, basketball, and swimming. It may not be Paris, but Henderson had its own gathering of the best of the best.
The Ortho Olympics includes five events:
Tie – installing power chains on top and bottom arches.
Untie – uninstalling power chains on top and bottom arches.
Retainer Cutting – cutting excess plastic from around clear retainers that are printed in our very own TruCrew lab. We’ve dropped a little sneak peak at just how the teams showed up…and showed out.

Records – patients are scanned using our amazing iTero scanners, then TruCrew members take photographs and x-rays to track progress during treatment.
While these four events are time-based, the final event is judged by Dr. Truman and was based on time, skill, and technique.
Starts – prepping, installing, securing brackets and wires for braces treatment on top and bottom arches.
Now, it’s time to meet the competition.
The TruCrew was split into two teams. Naturally, we hosted an opening ceremony to introduce TEAM PINK and TEAM GREEN.

Not to give anything away, but the competition didn’t just heat up in Paris. One competition was decided by just one second. Friends, let’s just say that these ladies were not kidding around. Meetings were had. Strategies were devised. And the tension was palpable. But, it was all in good TruCrew fun.
Only one team can capture gold. We even asked our front office crew who they thought would emerge Ortho Olympic champions.

After weeks of planning, strategizing, and filming, the time has come to reveal the winning team of the 2024 Ortho Olympics. We even had a closing ceremony (because of course we did).
