7 is your smile’s lucky number.
Along with the American Association of Orthodontists, we recommend that a child receive their first orthodontic screening by the age of 7. By starting treatment early at our Henderson orthodontic office, we’re able to recognize potential problems early and correct them before they become more serious. This not only saves you and your child time, but also money.
Early interceptive orthodontic treatment has proven to be beneficial for the overall desired result. Because a young child’s permanent teeth have not finished erupting, we are able to thoroughly evaluate the front-to-back and side-to-side tooth relationships and address any impending problems at their earliest stage.
During your child’s initial evaluation we will first determine if there are any problems that need to be addressed, such as potential crowding, open bite, overbite, or gummy smiles. It is possible that immediate treatment is not necessary at the time or even at all. However, if treatment is indicated, we will create a personalized treatment plan for your child that will prove to be the most beneficial for his/her specific case.
Smaller. Lighter. Faster.
Braces have come a long way since the 90’s.
At Truman Orthodontics in Henderson, we take pride in educating our patients with continual, open communication throughout their orthodontic treatment. Dr. Zach and his highly trained teams of orthodontic specialists realize that many patients are curious about how braces work. While we offer a variety of different types of braces, there are a number of common components that form braces. Below are explanations of the standard parts of braces and the functions they carry out.
Metal
Our metal braces are made from a high-grade stainless steel to provide you the highest-quality treatment. As the most common type of braces worn today, metal braces are now smaller, more comfortable, and more attractive than they have historically been.
Ceramic
Less visible than traditional metal braces, ceramic braces are made from a clear, ceramic material that offers for a comfortable, discreet treatment option. As a translucent alternative to metal brackets, ceramic braces are popular among our adult and teen patients.
Clear Aligners
At Truman Orthodontics in Henderson, we are committed to helping our patients achieve the healthiest, straightest smile possible through the use of only the most advanced orthodontic treatments, such as Invisalign®. As an esthetic alternative to traditional metal or clear braces, Invisalign® aligners are made from a polyurethane plastic that is almost invisible when placed on teeth. Dr. Truman and our team have found that Invisalign® clear aligners are popular among our teen and adult patients who wish to have a more discreet braces treatment as they can be removed for eating, to properly brush and floss, and for important social occasions.
Although not made of metal like traditional braces, Invisalign® clear aligners work in a similar way by applying small, carefully controlled forces to your teeth to gradually move them in a better position. After taking a scanned imaged of your teeth, your aligners are created using specialized computer software that helps to design a personalized plan for moving your teeth into the best possible alignment. Through each stage of your treatment, Truman Orthodontics will create a new set of aligners just for you and your orthodontic needs. As each stage has a great impact on the long term progress of your smile, you are expected to wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, for at least 20 hours per day before moving onto the next stage. You will continue moving through the stages until your teeth are properly aligned.

Dental Monitoring
Dental Monitoring is an Artificial Intelligence powered platform that allows Dr. Truman to monitor progress virtually. With AI-based software, DM provides real-time, accurate data on your orthodontic progress. This allows Dr. Truman to remotely monitor your treatment progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly, without the need for in-person appointments.
All Invisalign patients will be given a Scan Box and asked to download the easy to use Dental Monitoring app on their smartphone. Each week you will use this cutting edge technology to scan your teeth. This scan will immediately upload to Dr. Truman and team to review progress and respond to you immediately with any feedback or concerns. With Dental Monitoring we are able to cut down on your in office visits and the length of time you are in treatment.
